Synagis Clinic

Posted on: 01/01/2008

One of the most common respiratory viruses is RSV (respiratory syneytial virus). RSV usually causes only cold-like symptoms in older children and adults, but can make premature babies and those with chronic lung disease, congenital heart disease and other serious conditions that compromise pulmonary or immune function very sick.

There is a medication called Synagis (palivizumab) that can help prevent RSV infection in babies at risk. Complete Children's Health is recommending that your child receive this medicine during the RSV season. You can download informational brochures about RSV by clicking here.
