It is Time to get the Flu Vaccine

Posted on: 08/29/2012

We have flu clinic appointments available October through December.  Please contact us to schedule your appointment today!

Some people, such as older people, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are at high risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent the flu is to get a flu vaccine for yourself and your child. Vaccination is recommended for everyone 6 months and older. While everyone should get a flu vaccine each flu season, it’s especially important that young chil¬dren and children with long term health conditions get vaccinated. Also, caregivers of children with health conditions or children younger than 6 months old should get vaccinated. (Babies younger than 6 months are too young to be vaccinated themselves.)

CCH will offer the traditional injected (shot) vaccine Fluzone. The nasal spray, Flumist, is also available for healthy children 2 years of age and older.  When you come for your vaccine appointment, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire that helps your provider determine which vaccine is best for your child.  You may download the form by clicking here and you can bring the completed form with you.
